Covelo Park is the king of parks in Porto. It is located in the Paranhos area and has the biggest and nicest park for children in the city. It is a family friendly, peaceful and fun place to hang out. You can find the park full of life during the weekends or any day of the week, but especially on a sunny day.
The park has several well-defined pathways and at the lower level, there’s also a paved promenade, with a leafy canopy, and benches on either side of the promenade. For families, there’s a playground immediately adjacent and connected to the park.
The playground has several restrictions that help maintain the quality of the park and safety of the people. For example: no pets, bikes or skates are allowed inside
At Quinta do Covelo´s playground, there are attractions for the little ones as well as the grown ups including: slides, castles, bridges, outdoor gym, a sand box, a wire, and swings. Parents can also enjoy a beverage at the outdoors coffee shop located in one of the corners of the playground right across the sand box.
The park is full of vegetation and trees so you will always find a spot to rest, have a picnic, or read a book while your little ones explore and have fun.
There’s a convenient WC at the junction of the park and the playground and there is always a private security agent near the entrance, carefully checking the environment.
So next time you have a chance, prepare some snacks, grab a blanket and head out to the Quinta do Covelo Park, you will love it. Make sure to share with me your experience below.
